Achieving a healthy weight

To achieve a healthy weight you will need to move more and eat healthier as your weight is affected by

  1. The amount of energy (kilojoules) that you get from eating and drinking.
  2. The amount of energy (kilojoules) that you use up through physical activity.

When the amount of energy (kilojoules) you get from food and drink is more than you use up through physical activity and daily activities, then you will gain weight click here.

To lose weight you need to eat healthier foods and drinks, be mindful of portion sizes, eat in line with how active you are and increase your physical activity levels. Try these quizzes to help work out what your barriers are to healthy eating click here and to being active click here
